Mahathi is from India. She was born in the city of Hyderabad but grew up primarily in Delhi. As a result of the cultural differences between the South and North, Mahathi learned to be flexible and adaptable from an early age on.

Growing up in an increasingly hi-tech India, Mahathi felt inspired to learn more about the technology that surrounded her. She attended the Gandhi Institute of Technology and Management in Visakhapatnam for her undergraduate degree, and in spring 2016 arrived at USC’s Viterbi School of Engineering to pursue a master’s in electrical engineering.

Mahathi believes that diversity is not something that should divide, but rather something that binds us together by fostering mutual respect for different beliefs and opinions. This vision inspired her to work for the Office of International Services, where she contributes to the wellbeing of USC’s global community.

In her free time, Mahathi enjoys playing badminton and dancing.
