A new U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) registration process began on March 13, 2025, following Executive Order 14159. While this does not apply to F-1 and J-1 visa holders, dependent children in F-2 or J-2 status may be affected.
Registration Deadlines:
- Children under 14: Parents must submit registration within 30 days of arrival to the U.S. or by April 12, 2025, whichever is later.
- Children who turned 14 after arrival in the U.S.: Children who turned 14 after arriving in the U.S. must register within 30 days of their 14th birthday or by April 12, 2025, whichever is later. Registration includes attending a biometrics appointment for fingerprinting.
How to Register:
- Visit the USCIS Alien Registration webpage.
- Create an online account.
- Complete and submit Form G-325R.
- For children 14 or older, attend a biometrics appointment.
- After completing these steps, a registration confirmation will be available for download from your online account. Anyone over the age of 18 must carry this proof of registration at all times.
