The Office of International Services is excited to announce that Jessie Reeves joined our team as International Student Advisor on March 1, 2017. Jessie will advise international students on issues related to immigration status and employment, as well as assist students adjust to life at USC. She will also provide training and guidance to campus partners on immigration regulations, international student advisement, employment, and intercultural education concerns.

Following her graduation from the University of Virginia, Jessie moved to southern California where she began a career in higher education. Over the past three years, she has worked in various capacities as an administrator and advisor for international students. Her first position was as a Regional Admissions Advisor for Kaplan International at the headquarters in Santa Barbara. At Kaplan International, she assisted international students with selecting the school and program that best suited their needs, as well as advising on pre-departure and visa application processes. Most recently, Jessie worked at UC Irvine’s Division of Continuing Education as an International Student Affairs Specialist, where her duties ranged from assisting with new student orientations, enrolling students in courses, and processing new student applications.

Jessie credits her frequent moves and time living abroad throughout her childhood with instilling a desire to help others to navigate and be successful in new environments. She is thrilled to join the OIS team as an International Student Advisor and use her experience and expertise to advocate for and foster the success of international students at USC.

In her free time, Jessie enjoys traveling, cooking, and drawing. For her next trip abroad, she would love to visit Japan, Thailand, or Argentina.
