The joint-winners each had more than 700 “Likes” on Facebook!

More than 70 USC students submitted photographs capturing some of the world’s famous gems and its hidden corners. The world responded, as photos in this collection were shared and “liked” thousands of times. The winners of the International Education Week 2014 Photo Contest are Sera Menn and Fred Chang.Menn’s brilliant photograph of the Norwegian Fjords and Chang’s magnificent photograph of Taiwan at nighteach received more than 700 likes on Facebook. They will each receive a $50 gift certificate to the USC Bookstore as a prize.

Menn is from Istanbul, Turkey and studies at the Annenberg School for Communication and Journalism. She took her winning photograph while visiting Norway in July to enjoy the fjords, which are long, narrow inlets with steep cliffs created by glacial erosion.

Chang is from Taiwan and is a student at the Sol Price School of Public Policy at USC. He took the winning photograph when he returned to Taiwan in the summer of 2013 and visited his cousins in Kaohsiung. Aware that Fred loves cityscapes and photography, they took him on a motorcycle ride up a mountainside to see this view.

An honorable mention goes to Bhuvi Gupta for this splendid photograph taken at Sanjay Ghandi National Park in Mumbai, India. Bhuvi is from Mumbai and studies chemical engineering at the Viterbi School of Engineering. Gupta will receive a $25 gift certificate to the USC Bookstore.
