More than three hundred students were at the USC University Club noshing tasty food, chatting with their peers, and simply enjoying one of their last moments special moments as USC students. Perhaps some of them will return to USC to earn another degree, or to attend a football game. At the very least, they’ll return to USC in many future conversations and daydreams.

The 33rd Annual International Student Graduation Reception was held on Thursday, April 23. This event celebrates the upcoming commencement of international students at USC, which enrolls students from 115 different countries. Commencement ceremonies are on May 15.

Tony Tambascia, executive director of the USC Office of International Services, thanked the graduating students for their countless contributions to USC and wished them success in their coming adventures. Also in attendance were representatives from the Consulate General of the Republic of Indonesia, the Royal Thai Consulate-General Los Angeles, and the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Los Angeles.

A four-piece jazz band led by USC Thorton School of Music student Ben Davis played on the back porch throughout the reception. Miniature hamburgers (or sliders), pasta, tacos, and cake were among the many culinary options.

Students entered a raffle to win a wide variety of USC-themed prizes. Some of the lucky winners took home a fleece blanket, an NCAA official size football, a t-shirt, a baseball cap, a piggy bank, and a stuffed bear sporting a tiny USC sweatshirt.
