OIS is excited to announce that Brett Wobbe joined the team as HSC J-1 Advisor on Monday, October 17, 2016. As of this week, Brett will serve the Health Science Campus J-1 students with immigration advice.

Brett hails from the Midwest (originally from the St. Louis area), and has moved around quite a bit. After graduating from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, he relocated to Los Angeles, where he served as a pre-K teacher through Teach For America. After completing his two-year commitment, he worked in Chicago Public Schools before moving to Busan, South Korea to teach English in partnership with the Korean Government.

In 2011, Brett began a graduate program at Johns Hopkins University and served as an F-1 and J-1 advisor at their Office of International Services. He recently relocated to California, after working with the Institute of International Education’s Legal Unit in New York, and now advises J-1 students and scholars on USC’s Health Sciences Campus. Brett has traveled to over 20 countries and has always been drawn to working with international populations.

Please help us welcome Brett into the Trojan Family and make him feel at home.
