On May 14, the Department of Education issued a final rule stating that international students are now eligible to receive funding for emergency grants offered by the Coronavirus Aid, Relief and Economic Security (CARES) Act, the Coronavirus Response and Relief Supplemental Appropriations Act, 2021 (CRRSAA or HEERF II), and the American Rescue Plan Act of 2021 (ARPA or HEERF III).

These financial aid grants will be provided to students with exceptional need. Students must have been enrolled in spring 2021 to be eligible for funding. The deadline to apply has been extended to June 18, 2021 and the application is available on Scholarship Universe.
