OIS staff understand this is an uncertain period of time and there are still many unanswered questions about how and when we can return to campus. USC is still developing plans for how to bring students back to campus safely for the fall semester. In the coming weeks, the university will launch the Project Restart website with detailed information about how life on campus will begin to resume. While the university has confirmed undergraduate courses will be offered in-person and online, not all graduate programs have not officially declared what method of instruction will be offered in the fall semester. The Project Restart website will clarify the details of how instruction will be delivered to all students for the fall semester. Given the rapidly evolving nature of the pandemic, any decisions could change on short notice.

There is still much uncertainty regarding international students’ ability to arrive in the US in time for the fall semester, due to embassy closures, travel restrictions and the limited availability of commercial flights. The Student Exchange Visitor Program (SEVP) has also not yet released official guidance on what special COVID-19 accommodations will be available for the fall 2020 semester. OIS knows you have many questions, so in an effort to help you make informed decisions about your options for the fall semester, OIS will offer two live webinars titled, “How Will USC’s Fall 2020 Plan Impact Me?” OIS staff will do our best to address common concerns and allow for additional questions at the end of the presentation. OIS staff will share what we do and do not know at this time and are committed to continuing to update you via email and our website as more information becomes available.
