Green Card This Way

What normally happens when you graduate in the U.S. as an international student? You return to your home country, where your degree from USC is received with open arms by potential employers.

But what if you would rather remain in the States and become a permanent resident? One way of doing this is by finding a local employer to hire you. Unfortunately, this is not always as easy as it sounds, and many students return home empty handed.

The U.S. State Department offers another way for international students to obtain permanent residency, namely the Diversity Green Card Lottery. This year, the State Department has 50,000 diversity immigrant visas available for the 2018 Financial Year.

The golden tip to increasing your chances of obtaining a green card is simply to apply. There are no guarantees in the process, but by way of this article the OIS provides you with two valuable resources to help you get started. First off, you may read the article “Top 10 Things You Need To Know About the FY 2018 Green Card Lottery,” kindly provided by Loke Walsh Immigration Law.

Secondly, make sure to browse through the State Department’s Diversity Visa Program Entry Instructions before applying.

Good Luck and Fight On!
